Até hoje, 2.016 palestinos foram mortos durante a Operação Protective Edge na Faixa de Gaza e 10.196 sofreram ferimentos graves. Mais de 500 eram crianças, 250 mulheres (9 grávidas) e 95 idosos.
As perdas aumentaram porque muitos feridos não sobreviveram aos ferimentos, sobretudo crianças.
Por outro lado, a IDF confirmou que dos 64 soldados mortos, cinco deles foram mortos por "fogo amigo".
O cessar-fogo termina hoje às 21:00 GMT. 17:00 de Brasília.

Until today, a total of 2,016 Palestinians were killed and another 10,196 wounded. Among the dead, more than 500 children, 250 women (9 preganant) and 95 elderlerly men.
The toll, which had stood at 1,980, jumped up after a number of people died from their injuries in hospitals across Gaza, as well as in Cairo and Jerusalem where they had been taken for treatment.
Medic also retrieved another body from under the rubble in the battered Shejaiya district east of Gaza City, where it had laind for more than three weeks, Palestinian health minister said.
Separately, the Israely army confirmed that five of 64 soldiers killed in combat had died as a result of "friendly fire".
The ceasefire expires today at 21:00 GMT.

"If Zionism is the dream of Jews to overcome a state of mere survival and forge our own destiny, then claiming that the occupation is necessary, that Israel “has no other choice,” is the betrayal of Zionism. 
Israel’s rule of force over a civilian population threatens our democratic integrity, moral character, and international standing –  in short, it threatens that future.
Israel is a strong and thriving country. We can take responsibility for our actions, hold our institutions and military accountable, acknowledge our mistakes, and correct them. We can forge our own future, but only by ending the occupation. 
Naturally, our claims are met with doubt. But we encourage critical debate based on evidence. We have testimony from over 950 soldiers about their service, many of them on film. Incidents we exposed have been confirmed by the Israeli media and we have been invited to speak at the United States Air Force Academy. Carmi Gillon, former head of the Shin Bet, has praised our work.
The testimonies portray a system of control and expropriation of land that is founded on the use of military force. Arbitrary violence is of the essence of military rule, which cannot rely on democratic legitimacy. 
As enforcers of Israel’s regime in the Occupied Territories, we know of “mock arrests,” random humiliating punishments; use of civilians as human shields; numerous checkpoints and barriers between and inside Palestinian villages and cities; “mappings;" curfews; beatings; attack dogs; and simple, constant, everyday chaos and panic. 
Some American [and foreign] Jews may argue that these methods of control are justified; they may defend Israel’s policies, as well as their financial and political support for these occupation policies. 
But instead of gathering information and forming a position, too many focus on their own feelings, and the boundaries of their own conversation. 
Instead of an actual dialogue about our reality and future, they are content to have a conversation about the conversation about Israel. 
Rather than respond to what they hear, they argue over whether they should plug their ears. 
This may serve some staff and some donors..., but it doesn’t serve Israel. 
It takes some chutzpah to claim that by silencing our voices you are protecting our own country from us".

Para manter o regime de Israel nos territórios ocupados, sabemos de “detenções debochadas,” punições humilhantes indiscriminadas; uso de civis como escudos; numerosos checkpoints e barreiras entre e dentro de cidades palestinas e vilarejos; “mapeamentos;" toques de recolher; espancamentos; ataques de cachorros; e simples e constante caos e pânico quotidiano.
Alguns judeus estadunidenses e outros judeus estrangeiros argumentam que estes métodos de controle são justificados; até defendem a política de Israel assim como seu apoio político e financeiro desta política de ocupação. Mas ao invés de informar-se para formar sua opinião, muitos a focam em seus próprios sentimentos e nos límites que de seu próprio discurso.
Ao invés de dialogarem de verdade sobre nossa realidade e nosso futuro, eles se contentam em conversar sobre uma conversa sobre a conversa sobre Israel.
Em vez de responder ao que ouvem, eles arguem se deveriam tapar os ouvidos.
Este comportamento pode servir certas pessoas e alguns doadores..., mas não é bom para Israel.
É uma vergonha ousar dizer que nos calando [os reservistas que denunciam as práticas da IDF] vocês estão protegendo nosso próprio país de nós".
